Researchers from Deakin University are aiming to ensure a future of high quality, local journalism in rural and regional Australia to enhance democracy and the social fabric of communities beyond the metropole.
Championing multicultural journalism
Originally from Mexico, Eduardo Jordan left a background in IT made the change to journalism and moved to Brisbane where he completed his Masters in Journalism and a PhD.
Eduardo worked at Amnesty International before joining multicultural radio 4EB and its programme The Wire in 2011.
He became of the Brisbane team’s most senior reporters and loves reporting on Indigenous issues and international news.
He produces The Wire and The Wire Weekly. Conversations on Communication spoke to Eduardo about the future of multicultural journalism.
